Hi Everyone!

My husband and I own Pure Blue Pools. For more than a decade, I have been in the software and web design industry before I was introduced to the world of pools.

During my time as a web designer and co-pool business owner, I have learned a few SEO tricks that allow customers to find your website faster without spending any money on ads. For those who don’t know, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s a long, technical sounding phrase that simply means you should add certain keywords to your website, so the right people find you.

As you know in the pool industry, when you know certain tips and tricks -- that non-pool industry people don’t know -- it can make your life a whole lot easier. The same goes for websites. All you have to do is make a few small changes to make a huge impact.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

1.) Before you upload or add images, make sure you rename them with your company name plus any other significant words. Be sure to add keyword-rich ALT tags to every image on your site.

2.) Write local, search-friendly website content.

For Example:  Your Pool Company Name + Main Services + Location

3.) Include your business info and description in the footer.

4.) Connect your social media profiles. Adding your FaceBook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or other social media profiles, allows a broader audience to find you.

When you make these seemingly small changes, you give yourself the opportunity to attract the right customers that need your specific services.

This is awesome advice. What are your thoughts on website builders like Wix, Squarespace and go daddy vs something like Wordpress for SEO optimization. I’ve been using Wix and have good local exposure on search, but I've had to put a lot of time into the things you have mentioned, and still took a couple years to get there.

Now Im thinking of going to Go High Level for CRM and would probably build a new site to utilize all of their CRM features, but im worried how that will affect my SEO.

Hi JandyPoolGuy,

Thank you for your response!

I’ve worked with Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress to build websites, and I’ve only used GoDaddy for domain purchases. Each of these platforms can perform equally well in terms of SEO — what really determines your search ranking is how effectively you craft search-friendly content and apply SEO best practices. Submitting your website to major search engines is also a great way to increase visibility.

I’m only somewhat familiar with Go High Level. My background is in sales, so I’ve primarily used HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Insightly, and Copper. I currently use AirTable because it allows me to build out my CRM interface exactly how I want it (I used to freelance building CRMs for companies). I also keep HubSpot and Salesforce ready in case I need more advanced integrations down the line.

It sounds like you’re drawn to Go High Level for its all-in-one integrations — which makes sense. In my experience, it’s a strong choice for businesses managing a high volume of leads (hundreds or thousands per month) who need efficient workflow automation.

My recommendation would be to look closely at the overall cost versus the potential benefit for your specific business model. Switching to Go High Level or building a new website shouldn’t affect your SEO; what matters most is how well you implement SEO best practices.

I’ve attached an SEO checklist for your review — it should help you make sure your site stays optimized regardless of which platform you choose.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,

Randa

Thanks for such a detailed breakdown. Super helpful.

My main reason for being drawn to GHL is because it sounds like that’s one of the CRMs that’s on the short list for a integration into Skimmer, which I think would provide good value if both can work together. I don’t have hundreds of leads per month, but I am getting to the point that I need a bit more streamlined / consolidated communication to organize my clients requests.

You’re very welcome!

I didn’t know that, but definitely good to know! I will be on the lookout for the integration they decide on. Yes, that would be a great option for full integration! That would be a great option for Pure Blue Pools to have streamlined and consolidated communication with clients as well. Thank you for the info!
