Looking to add a few more accounts / customers to our San Diego coastal community service areas. 

We try to purchase all of our replacement parts through distribution for various reasons. We also typically only buy the manufacturer replacement parts for warranty and quality. I stumbled across this today and it isn’t the first time I've seen something similar. I was quoting a salt cell power center for a customer and the price difference between the generic part, the amazon manufacturer part, and the distribution part is absolutely crazy. The generic power center is less than $100 a day and I can have it on my door step the same day on a Sunday. Distribution is over $600 and that usually requires me to go to distribution to get it. I know buying the $100 part on amazon is a risk but one I’m considering to start taking more. I can mark the amazon part up to a much higher margin than the other. I will make more on the part and the customer will pay less. Sounds like a win win to me. What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone ran across other parts with such big differences?

Does anyone has a pool route or part of a pool route to sale in Fort Bend, or SW Houston, TX?

Diamond grade route to launch an empire if desired. All customers understand the expense of having a profession pool service and are billed for all extra chemicals used above normal maintenance. Only the first gallon of chlorine is included in the service rate, everything above that is extra. Most repairs are approved automatically if below $100. During major storms and wind events customers pay extra to have leaves removed. Four weeks of vacation are worked into service rate. National holidays customers only expect chem only service. Nice, established route in the Solano County area. We charge extra for filter cleans; salt cell cleans and conditioner. Approximately: 95% have auto cleaners; 15% have salt systems. Hey my fellow operators. I own a small company 300 accounts. Im always looking to add more accounts , organically and by acquisition . Im wondering if anyone knows of lender or funding group specifically designed for our industry . If there aren't  any , then I think we should put a group together to round up some angle investors, or hard money lenders. It should be easy, our business is easy to verify income and its recurring  . It's not passive, and yes there's a risk, but that goes for all small business . Any how, im looking for some names of known funding groups .

This is for anyone that has financed (not owner financed) a pool route. I’m curious as to how the experience was? What were the terms like? Were you still profitable while paying back the loan? Would you do it again if given the opportunity?

There seems to be some varied opinions on buying and selling routes through a broker. On one hand, brokers seem to offer things like guarantees and handoff processes that are useful in a business transaction of this nature. Some offer escrow services that complete payouts after time to ensure the routes purchased aren’t going to churn. On the other hand, some find the broker fees to be excessive and/or unnecessary. Have you used a broker to buy or sell routes? What are the pros and cons?
