This release brings a big update to how techs log in, plus some improvements under the hood that make syncing more dependable and diagnostic data easier to understand. You'll see a new sign-in screen, tighter password protections, and a handful of fixes that clean up rough edges on mobile. Here's everything that's changing. A new way to log inSkimmer's sign-in process is moving to a more secure system, the same upgrade that rolled out on the web app back in August. It keeps things familiar while running on more reliable technology behind the scenes. Here's what changes on mobile:The login screen no longer has username and password fields. Instead, you'll tap Sign In and land on Skimmer's secure sign-in page to enter your credentials. After the update, everyone will need to log back in and set up biometric login (Face ID or fingerprint) again. If you're on iOS and don't use biometrics, you'll see an extra confirmation prompt each time you log in. Turning on biometric login is the only wa

Busy routes don't always mean a profitable business, here’s what every pool pro needs to know about their numbers: Full routes and steady revenue feel like success. But with labor, fuel, chemicals, and equipment costs still rising, more revenue doesn't always mean more money in your pocket. If your costs climb faster than your prices, your margins can shrink without you noticing.Niki Acosta sat down with Ryan Marcinik, founder of Happy Pool & Spa, Conor Chang, VP of Finance and CPA at Happy Pool & Spa, and Amanda DaSilva, Director of Payments and Expansion at Skimmer, to break down the financial fundamentals every pool service owner should understand. You don't need to be an accountant, you just need to know which numbers to watch.  Key takeaways: Aim for 45% gross margin and 20% EBITDA. Ryan's "guiding light" for a healthy service business is at least 45% gross margin and no less than 20% EBITDA. Keep overhead (SG&A) under 15% of revenue, and closer to 10% as you scale. Kn

It's not even seven on Monday, and you're six tabs deep on your distributor's site, cross-referencing what you quoted against what you actually need on will call. Then a tech finishes a repair, and days later someone builds the invoice off a work order note and a text. Nothing connects what got ordered to what got installed to what got billed. That's not a process you created. It's what happens when your pricing lives in one place and your work lives in another.Skimmer is now integrated with Heritage, and it closes the loop:Real pricing on the quote, so what you charge is built on what the part actually costs today Parts ordered right inside Skimmer,  so they’re attached to the quote or work order instead of floating in a browser tab The invoice is built from what was actually ordered and installedQuote, order, install, invoice. We’re excited to launch Marketing Suite to give you a built-in way to run email and SMS campaigns and manage Google reviews, without leaving Skimmer.Today, marketing might look like an afterthought or a patchwork of disconnected tools, like Mailchimp for email, a separate SMS platform, and a standalone review app, none of which know anything about your actual customers or completed jobs. Marketing Suite automates your marketing efforts by running campaigns and review requests on the customer and job data already living in Skimmer.  What’s included: Campaigns: Launch email and SMS campaigns in minutes with pre-built automations, a plain-English audience builder, and AI-drafted content when you have your own idea. Reviews: Every completed job triggers a review request automatically. Happy customers go to Google, unhappy feedback stays private. AI-drafted review responses help you engage with Google reviewers quicker. Revenue-tied analytics: Understand which sends turned into paying work

You finish a job, everything went smooth, and then... nothing. No idea how the customer actually felt about it. Or the opposite — something was off, and you don't find out until you've already lost the account. Either way, you're always finding out too late.Service reviews fixes that. It's a simple way to hear directly from pool owners right after every visit, so you know how you're doing before it turns into a bigger problem. ⭐ How it works Pool owners rate their service with a quick 1–5 star tap, right from the service-complete email they already getTakes about 30 seconds — no login, no app to download They can add a short written note if they want to explain the rating Ratings are tied to the specific visit and tech, so you always know exactly what the feedback is about 🔔 Getting the heads-up when it matters If a rating comes in low, you get an alert — by panel, email, or urgent notification, your choice You set the threshold for what counts as "low" for your company That means you

Finding a pool that's drifting out of range used to mean opening customer profiles one at a time, or exporting a CSV and doing the math yourself. The new readings report fixes that, and here's how to get the most out of it.  What it doesThe readings report shows every pool you service in one list, with the last service date and whether any readings came back outside the ranges you've set. No more clicking into each pool to find out something's wrong. Click into any pool from that list and you'll get trend charts for each reading type, plus a full readings and dosages history with out-of-range values highlighted. You'll find it under Reports > Readings, and you'll also see the latest readings and dosages right on each customer's body of water tab. Set it up first: Office Alerts thresholds Before the report can flag anything as too high or too low, it needs to know what "too high" and "too low" mean for your business. It pulls those ranges from your Office Alerts settings.Go to your Of

Wanted to share what we're seeing across our client base going into 2026, because GBP rules have shifted hard in the last 12 months and what worked in 2024 isn't what's ranking now.I've audited 200+ pool service company GBPs in the last year. The companies winning the local map pack right now are doing things most pool companies haven't even heard of yet. Here's the actual playbook. 1. Service categories: Most pool companies use 1 or 2, you have room for up to 10Google lets you set 1 primary category and up to 9 secondary categories, 10 total. Most pool companies set up "Pool Cleaning Service" or “Swimming Pool Repair” as primary, maybe add one more, and stop. That's leaving up to 8 secondary slots empty.Add every secondary category that legitimately matches what you actually offer. For pool companies, the verified categories worth considering are:Swimming Pool Contractor (only if you actually build or remodel) Swimming Pool Repair Service Swimming Pool Cleaning Service Pool Cleaning S
