In January, we rolled out several updates designed to support growing pool businesses—especially teams taking on larger jobs, managing more technicians, and needing clearer visibility across operations. This release focuses on better collaboration, more control, and improved reporting, all while keeping everyday workflows simple. Here’s what’s new:
Consumer financing

You can now offer customers flexible payment options directly within Skimmer. Consumer financing helps remove friction at checkout and makes it easier for customers to move forward on larger repairs or installs without changing how you manage billing or payments.

Advanced roles and permissions

As teams grow, access control matters more. Advanced roles and permissions give you greater control over who can view, create, or manage different parts of Skimmer, helping keep responsibilities clear across office and field teams.

Enhanced work order creation and finish experience

We’ve redesigned how work orders are created, updated, and finished to make them faster and easier to manage. You can now add items, photos, and instructions throughout the lifecycle of a work order, track item status more clearly, and complete jobs with better accuracy from both Schedule and the Route Dashboard.
These updates lay the groundwork for a bigger improvement to Work Orders→ Multi-Tech Work Orders.
Coming on Monday, Feb 9.

Reporting improvements

We are continuing to improve the reporting experience in Skimmer. These new updates bring more flexibility and clarity.
- New filters let you view data by item, technician, customer, and service type, while visual indicators make it easier to understand what’s happening at a glance. These updates are especially helpful for tracking installs and technician commissions.
- All reports are now accessible from a single Reports page.
- Billing Reports have moved into this new hub, and the old Billing > Billing Reports link will be removed on February 12.
Public API updates
You can now search customers by phone number or email and create work orders directly through the API, making integrations more powerful and reliable.
As always, don’t forget to update your mobile app to the most current version for the latest improvements.
That’s it for January’s roundup. Keep an eye out next month — we’ve got a packed lineup coming your way to keep you in the loop on everything Skimmer. 🚀🚀
