Does anybody know when Orenda and Skimmer will integrate on Skimmer app?

Thank You!

Like you, we are so excited for this to arrive!

We don’t have a specific date for you yet, but testing and adding minor improvements are in their final stages.  Because of the nature of software development, “Soon” is our best response.

You can be sure that everyone will hear about it when our team releases it to the Skimmer community.

@ClarityDerek I know it’s coming very soon. They’ve been hard at work and I’m excited to see what they do with our calculator.

I do a fair amount of toggling between to two apps, can’t wait for the integration!

Is there anything specific to readings or dosages we must know or prepare for?

We’ve updated our reading values to match the Orenda app (We wish we could type them in). Since we deal with a wide range of water volumes (225 up to 30K gallons), we’ve reduced our dosages to the lowest common denominator of ounces (dry or liquid). We know that the Orenda app automatically switches from ounces to pounds or gallons, which we convert back to ounces to record the dosage (again, we wish we could type in or at least, when editing dosages, select a start and end value with an interval).

@alex, it would totally awesome if you can also do the LaMotte integration that Orenda just did with their app. Maybe @Eric Knight  could share their experience and what they went thru to integrate it. 🤔🤔🤔

Can I turn this on for some of my techs, and not for others?

Thank you Skimmer team for the hard work!!  I'm so excited about getting my team setup to use this in the field.

I have a the question we still use tabs and I was wondering record the amount used along with the reading for LSI, if this even possible?

@ClarityDerek

Thank you for the question about tabs. If you're using trichlor tabs, you can map your existing tab chemical/dosage to the chemical Trichlor 90+% in Skimmer under the LSI Settings in Readings & Dosages. When you do this, Skimmer will ask you to confirm the weight of the tab in terms of ounces so we can convert the unit of measurement when the Dosing Calculator returns the amount to dose in terms of ounces/pounds.

If you don't have an existing Trichlor 90+% chemical, you can select "Create New" and Skimmer will populate one for you.

If you choose to use Skimmer's Trichlor 90+%, be sure to adjust the values to reflect amounts of tabs (1, 2, 3, etc) rather than amounts of pounds (1/4, ½, ¾, 1, etc). I hope this information helps and we look forward to hearing your feedback on this new and exciting feature.

@dandec Thank you for your question. At this time, the LSI & Dosing Calculator will appear within the Skimmer workflow for all techs. A tech does not have to use it, but the availability is there for servicing any body of water, specifically when taking a reading or applying a dosage. I hope this information helps and look forward to hearing your feedback on this new and exciting feature.

Why is the dosage amount for Chlorine and Liquid acid come through as a % of a gallon used rather then the actual Oz when it converts from the orenda calculator to skimmer in the added dosages section? I have my chlorine set to 128oz per gallon same as acid. For example, lets say i run it through the orenda calculator, and it says I need to add 94oz of liquid chlorine so then I press “apply dosages” then when it takes me back to skimmer it says 0.73 for the liquid chlorine. Is there a way to get away from this?

Thanks @Pool Man Mike for your question. Orenda dosing results are presented in smaller units, such as fluid ounces or ounces up to the first gallon or pound. After the result reaches a gallon or pound, the result is presented in larger units as a whole number with decimal, such as 1.2 gallons or 2.3 pounds. When you apply that dosing result, it converts back to your unit of measurement specified, in this case, gallons. Hope this helps!
