Earlier this week, we hosted our first-ever Skimmer Pro Summit—Austin edition. Star Hill Ranch was the perfect venue to bring together our Central Texas community of company leaders and their Skimmer admins for a full day of professional development, networking, and fun.

We were so energized by the opportunity to spend that much face time with our customers and connect them with other pool entrepreneurs to share best practices and inspire them with new ideas for growing their business, finding efficiencies, and maximizing Skimmer's value.

Heritage Pool Supply Group was our exclusive event sponsor, plus we had a number of contributing partners who generously donated product samples to help us create an awesome Pro Summit package in addition to some cool Skimmer swag for all of our attendees:

The full-day agenda featured several guest speakers covering a variety of topics to ensure everyone would have tangible takeaways they could start applying right away. The day started with a welcome from Skimmer CEO Jack Nelson, who discussed Mainsail Partners' recent investment in Skimmer and what it means for our customers and the industry. The opening panel also featured Travis Floores from Heritage Pool Supply Group and Logan Jones of digital marketing agency Pool Monopoly, who offered their thoughts on the digital transformation happening in the pool industry.

Panel Discussion: The Pool Industry Landscape

Later in the day, attendees heard from John McIntyre, a Central Texas engineer and ASR specialist who gave a talk about “concrete cancer” that is impacting pools in the area. Consultant and Pool Deck contributor @sharonburch  shared best practices for setting up QBO and Skimmer to ensure clean P&Ls and real-time visibility into the health of a pool service business. And Justin Pinson (aka @jdpinson)  of Round Rock Pool Pros shared his story of how he started and built a successful service and repair business on Skimmer.

Customer Spotlight Session

The second half of the day featured Skimmer admin training and a deep dive into Skimmer’s roadmap. Owner roundtables featured a variety of topics to discuss including pricing, customer communication, employee engagement, marketing, and certification. Local instructor Kevin Tucker of Educational Leverage, offered his expertise around required certifications and regulations that impact Texas pros. And Logan Jones from Pool Monopoly shared best practices for digital marketing, including website services and various digital marketing platforms.
