Exciting news! Skimmer has launched our long-awaited integration with Orenda’s Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) calculator. The calculator is a powerful tool for maintaining balanced water chemistry, which is crucial for customer satisfaction in the pool service industry.

This integration makes it easier than ever for Skimmer customers to deliver great service. It gives technicians comprehensive water quality insights to achieve optimal water balance and pool health, all in Skimmer.

Unlike other LSI solutions available on the market, Skimmer’s integration with Orenda is simple and intuitive, minimizing switching between apps.

  • It offers a very close replica of the Orenda experience within the familiar Skimmer app, minimizing technicians' learning curve.
  • Features an intuitive interface with features like sliders for easy value input, meaning fewer clicks for your techs and more workflow efficiency.
  • Works both online and offline, which is perfect for remote pool locations.
  • Techs are able to see a real-time LSI value while entering readings.

We’re also offering a library of resources to help pool pros smoothly transition to using the new LSI & Dosing Calculator.

This is awesome news!  My guys have been switching between skimmer and the orenda app for years so we can get an accurate LSI reading and balance the water accordingly.

Setup was a breeze and my techs are thrilled!

You are spending more money and making more work for yourself if you are not using this new feature and balancing based on LSI.

Hi there!

We running about 550 pool/week and about 9 - 11 trucks and we are currently using test strips. I want to move to the Orenda with the LSI calculator - but not sure we are ready to make the jump to a $2000 investment per truck.

  1. What products do you recommend using to test the water? WaterLink Spin Touch?
  2. We see the way the techs treat some of their gear and wondering if anyone has some feedback on the durability and reliability of the WaterLink Spin Touch’s?

Thank you for any feedback!

Taylor test kit and enter the results into the app. Will add some time per stop especially until they get proficient at doing the tests, but it will be far more accurate than test strips.

@dazzlepools Our techs carry a taylor test kit on the truck.  They enter the readings into Skimmer to get the LSI reading.

We have 2 WaterLink Spin Touch units, but we do not send them out on the route trucks.  We use it for customers who bring a water sample in to us.  The disks are expensive and in my opinion won’t save that much time once the techs are proficient with the taylor kit.  They also need to be plugged in or charged which is an issue if the techs forget to plug it in over night.

Switching to LSI/Orenda is worth the time and effort to learn.  We have been using it for 5+ years and it has been a game changer.  I am happy to discuss more if you want.

Best of luck switching things over.
