Have you ever opened your app for the day and, instead of having your usual 15 stops, the app is showing youâve got 30?! Or maybe your tech is already out in the field and calls you saying that their whole list of customers is on their route twice, and theyâre so confused!
Â
This can be super frustrating, right?! Well, let me save you a future headache đ
Â
Why do route duplications occur?
The most common reason I see route duplications is that a tech or any user is logged into the Skimmer app on two different mobile devices. For example, if you have a new tech getting trained and youâve given them your username and password, now both of you are logged in under the same name, causing duplications.Â
Â
How can I avoid duplicates?
The best way to avoid duplicates is to ensure everyone has a unique username and passwordâyes, even the new tech in training or the admin in the office who is never in the field! Donât forget that with Skimmer, you can add unlimited users to your account!
Â
What about if I NEED to be logged in on two devices?
If you need to be logged in on two devices for some reason, open the Skimmer app and go to your Settings. Youâll see a toggle for âPrimary Device for Routeâ. This toggle should be de-selected for your secondary device so it will not be used to log any data. Youâll still be able to log all your chemicals and take photos on your device that is set to Primary.Â
Â
Â
Itâs too late; Iâve got duplicates! Help!
If you see duplicates on your route for today, donât panic!
First, check to ensure you are the ONLY person logged in under your username. Second, if youâre using that secondary device, ensure the Settings are correct for each.Â
For today, skip all the duplicate routes, ANDÂ donât tap Finish on any of them. That way, your customers will not get a duplicate service report, and their billing will not be affected.
Â
TIP - You can also drag all the duplicates to the bottom of your list from your app to prevent tapping on them! Â
Â
Navigating through duplicated routes can be a headache, but with the right strategies, you can streamline your operations and keep your day on track. By ensuring each user has unique login credentials and understanding how to manage devices within the Skimmer app, you can significantly reduce the occurrence of route duplications.
And if duplicates do appear, remember not to panic. With a few simple steps, like skipping or dragging duplicate stops, you can maintain accuracy and efficiency in your service delivery.
Stay organized, stay informed, and keep providing top-notch service to your customers! đ đ±
