Im new to owning a pool business and I invested in a riptide. It's great for picking up leaves and such, but definitely not effective for dirt as it creates a cloud. I have been using a regular hose to Vaccum for that.
Are there any vacuums out there that can pretty much pick anything?

What bag are you using on the riptide? The standard bag (orange) cleans down to 100 microns. They do however have a 75 and a 60 micron bag that might be better suited for you if you are using the standard one.
